Nov 03, 2006: What would you ask?

The first "WWYD?" (What would you do?) seems to have been a success. To refresh you, I took a crack at a gnarly IA question, and then opened it up to answers from Bloug readers. 14 very smart comments later, I think the original questioner got the answer, or at least the guidance, that he needed.

So I guess we're ready for WWYD#2. Got a burning question about information architecture? Post it here, or email it to me (lou louisrosenfeld.com). If you email me, be sure to let me know if I can use your name and company, or if you'd prefer to remain anonymous. I'll then pick a question and take a crack at it next week.

Hi Lou,

Here's my question:

Do you see an eventual convergence between Information Architecture and "MDA" (Model Driven Architecture) in regards to practices?

I ask this because I've been a Business Analyst, IA, Developer, etc. on a variety of projects and I can see the value-add of an IA (like myself) knowing data modeling, object modeling, etc.

These skill sets have served me well in having a clearer picture of how the information is being organized, stored, processed, etc.

Just wanted to get your thoughts on this.

Thanks,

Rod

Hi Lou,

I was wondering what the future was for emergent architecture and if there are any successful examples out there at the moment that we can look to for guidance.

Cheers

Iain

Lou,

What are you thinking about semantic technologies for information architecture and user experience?

In terms of information architecture of blogs, for example, my site at http://kuzzuk.net/index.php what could I have done to improve it? Aren't all blogs quite similar in terms of IA?
