Agree, but what about search?
I'm not impressed by the search functionality. No thematic grouping, no signs of structure - in other words internal search as it most often is.

The real challenge is building a structure to your web site that also the search function can use.

That would be some challenge, yes. But it would be an interesting one. I think this is one of the most important shortcomings of today's portals: no connection between site structure (if there is any!) and search.

Some improvements could be done by tweaking the search results, and that is the most common solution. But the real solution calls for a tight integration between site structure and search. So I guess we're on to semantics..
